What Does a Fitness Consultant Do?
A fitness consultant works out what you should do before any training starts. They ask about your goal, your routine, your injuries and what you’ve already tried, then recommend a programme and a first plan. At Fitstrot, that is a free twenty-minute call with a certified coach, and you keep the roadmap either way.
It’s the step most people skip. They pick a gym, an app or a class by price and start on Monday. A few weeks in, they find it never suited them.
Fitstrot’s online fitness consultant is a coach, and the call has one job: to work out which programme fits you. Sometimes the answer is none of them yet. You’ll hear that too.
One limit. The call covers training and general nutrition. It isn’t medical advice. If your situation needs a doctor rather than a coach, you’ll be told so.
Why Talk to a Fitness Trainer Before You Buy a Plan
Fitstrot started because too many people were paying for fitness and getting a PDF. A plan nobody follows up on. A coach who goes quiet after the first month.
The problem usually starts before the first workout. You may know a version of this.
You bought the plan before anyone asked about you
A template with your name at the top. It ignores your knee, your work hours and what your kitchen cooks.
You picked the format by price
Zumba because it cost less, or one-on-one because it sounded serious. Neither is wrong. Either can be wrong for you.
Nobody told you not yet
Sometimes the honest answer is to see your doctor first, or to get a few in-person sessions before you lift heavy. A sales call rarely says that. This call does.
The call costs you twenty minutes. The wrong programme can cost you months.
What Is the Difference Between a Fitness Consultant and a Personal Trainer?
A fitness consultant advises you once, and a personal trainer coaches you every week. The consultant looks at your goal, history and schedule, then recommends a plan. A personal fitness trainer runs that plan with you and corrects your form as you go. At Fitstrot, both are certified coaches, and the consultation comes first.
| Fitness consultation | Ongoing training | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Before you pay anything | After you choose a programme |
| How long | One call, about twenty minutes | Every week, for as long as you train |
| What happens | Questions about your goal, routine, injuries and what has failed before | Live sessions with a coach who can see you |
| What you get | A training and nutrition roadmap to keep | Form correction, check-ins and a plan that changes with your progress |
| Cost at Fitstrot | Free | From ₹1,299 a month |
So you don’t have to pick one or the other. You start with the call. If a programme suits you, you carry on with a trainer.

What Happens in a Free Fitness Consultation?
In a free fitness consultation at Fitstrot, a certified coach spends about twenty minutes on a call with you. They ask about your goal, your routine, your equipment, any injuries and what has failed before. You leave with a training and nutrition roadmap and an honest recommendation. No card, no obligation.
01
Tell us five things
Name, phone, email, your fitness goal and a preferred call time. The call time is optional.
02
Get a reply within 24 hours
You’ll get a reply to fix a time. If you have a slot in mind, such as weekday evenings, say so when you message.
03
Talk for twenty minutes
Your goal, your schedule, your equipment, any injuries and what you’ve tried before. If you have a health condition, mention it here. Some conditions change which programme suits you, and a few need clearance from your doctor first.
04
Keep the roadmap
A workout and macro roadmap you can act on straight away. You also get honest advice on whether personal training, yoga or Zumba suits you.
05
Decide in your own time
Sign up, try one live class free, or do nothing. You keep the plan either way.
What happens next: you get a reply within 24 hours to fix a time. No card required.
What Your Fitness Consultation Covers
This is an online fitness consultation, so you can take the call from anywhere in India. Here is what to expect.
You’ll be asked about:
- Your goal, in your own words
- Your day: work hours, travel, and when you could really train
- What you own. Dumbbells, bands, a mat, or nothing at all
- Old injuries, and anything your doctor has told you
- What you tried before and why it stopped
You take away:
- A workout and macro roadmap built for your routine
- A straight answer on which programme fits, or that none does yet
- No surprise on price. Every plan’s price is already public
What it isn’t: a diagnosis, a diet for a medical condition, or a hard sell. Zero commitment, no card and no sales pressure.

Which Programme the Call Usually Points To
Start from your goal, not the format. These are the usual routes. Your coach may suggest a different one after hearing your situation.
| If you say | You’ll probably hear | Price |
|---|---|---|
| I want to get stronger and I need someone watching my form | One-on-one sessions with an online personal trainer | ₹9,999 a month for 20 live sessions |
| I’ve tried to lose weight alone and it didn’t last | Coaching with a personal trainer for weight loss | ₹1,749 a month |
| I’m stiff, stressed and I sit all day | Live online yoga classes | ₹1,299 a month |
| I get bored of workouts and quit | Live online Zumba classes | ₹1,299 a month |
| My training is fine. My eating isn’t | An online nutritionist consultation | ₹349 a month |
Most members end up combining two.
And sometimes the answer is none of them yet. If you’re brand new to heavy barbell work, a few in-person sessions first is better advice than anything Fitstrot could sell you. If something needs your doctor, you’ll hear that as well.
How Do I Choose a Fitness Trainer Online?
To choose a fitness trainer online, check five things before you pay: that sessions are live, which certificate the trainer holds, who will coach you, the full price, and whether you can try a session free. Fitstrot publishes its prices, names its head coach’s diploma and starts with a free call.
01
Is it live, or recorded?
Ask whether a coach can see you during the session. Every Fitstrot programme runs live. Nothing is pre-recorded.
02
Which certificate, from where, and when?
Certified on its own tells you little. Ask for the course, the institute and the year.
03
Who will coach you?
The person on the first call isn’t always the person in your sessions. Ask for your coach’s name before you pay.
04
What does it cost, all in?
Look for a public price. Fitstrot charges no joining fee, adds no GST and has no annual contract. You can cancel any time.
05
Can you try it first?
At Fitstrot you can try one live class free before you pay anything.
Two more questions are worth asking. What happens when you miss a session? Here you reschedule free with 24 hours notice. And what can’t they do over video? Video is weaker for heavy barbell work and injury rehab. A trainer who says so is more useful than one who doesn’t.
Are Online Fitness Trainers Certified?
Not all of them. The word certified on a profile doesn’t tell you which course, where or when, so ask for the certificate’s name, the institute and the year. At Fitstrot, founder and head coach Yash holds a Diploma in Personal Training from K11 School of Fitness Sciences (July 2025, Distinction).

Diploma in Personal Training, K11 School of Fitness Sciences (July 2025, Distinction)
Yash did not start Fitstrot from a marketing plan. He started it because he kept meeting people who had tried everything, gym memberships, diet charts, apps, and still had nothing to show for it. What was missing was never effort. It was someone watching, adjusting, and holding them to it.
Yash is the only coach named on this site today. Every Fitstrot coach holds a recognised fitness certification, but you should not have to take that on trust. On your call, ask who you are speaking to and which certificate they hold. The about page has more on the coaches behind Fitstrot.

What Members Say About the Plans They Got
Two members whose plans were built around what they told their coach.
I never thought getting fit could be this easy and affordable but Fitstrot made it possible. Both the plans were simple in Gujarati, and the workouts designed for me were as per my needs of home workouts keeping in mind my back pain. The diet was vegetarian as I asked for and designed in a way that could be followed regularly.
Vandana, Teacher
Since starting your diet and workout plans with Fitstrot, I’ve seen a gradual yet clear transformation in my body. The diet is surprisingly easy to follow and aligns well with my usual eating habits, while the workouts are both manageable and highly effective. Your consistent follow-ups have truly made a difference in my progress.
Sudeep James, Teacher
Individual results vary. These members trained consistently over several months.
Fitstrot’s Google profile shows 5.0 from 4 reviews. That’s a small number, and it’s the real one.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Fitness Consultation
Q1Is the fitness consultation really free?
Yes. There is no charge and no card is required. You keep the training and nutrition roadmap whether or not you sign up.
Q2Do I have to join a programme after the call?
No. There’s zero commitment. You can sign up, try one live class free, or walk away with your roadmap.
Q3Who will I speak to?
A certified Fitstrot coach. Yash, the founder and head coach, is the only coach named on the site today. Ask for your coach’s name and certificate when your call time is confirmed.
Q4Can I meet a fitness consultant in person?
No. Fitstrot is online only. It is based in Una, Gir Somnath, Gujarat, and coaches members across India. If you need hands-on coaching, such as your first weeks under a barbell, a trainer near you is the better choice. You’ll be told that on the call.
Q5I have a health condition. Can I still book?
Yes. Mention it on the call. Some conditions change which programme suits you, and a few need clearance from your doctor first. The consultation is fitness guidance. It doesn’t replace your doctor.
Q6Can I ask for a female coach?
For training, yes. Tell your coach when you book and you’re matched accordingly. For the consultation call itself, ask when your time is confirmed.
Q7What should I keep ready for the call?
Your goal in one line, your usual weekday, a list of any equipment you own, and anything your doctor has advised. It also helps to know what you tried before and why it stopped.
Q8Is the consultation the same as the free trial class?
No. The consultation is a conversation about what you should do. The trial is one live class, so you can see how a session runs. You can do both before you pay.
